2.Explore the world around you
One thing that is important for recovering addicts is to stay active. It’s common for people to feel withdrawn and lethargic when they are recovering from addiction. It’s best to find something you enjoy doing and do it, even if it feels difficult at first.
Some people may want to take up an exercise routine, while others may want to explore their surroundings. If you’re lucky, you may live in a place where there are plenty of new things to do and see. You could try exploring your neighborhood or a new area nearby. You could also take up hiking as a hobby or organize your own walking group with friends or coworkers.
It can be hard to find the motivation to read when you’re struggling with meth addiction. It’s not surprising, given that a lot of people who are addicted to meth lose interest in other things they previously enjoyed, like reading. But reading is an important way of staying sharp and maintaining cognitive function. Even if you don’t have a lot of time, try scheduling 10 minutes each day for reading.
4.Get involved in your local community
Getting involved in your local community is a great way to focus your attention on someone or something other than yourself. It is also an excellent way at staying active and social despite your addiction.
Volunteering at a soup kitchen, animal shelter, food pantry, or hospital are all great ways to get involved in the community without having to think about what you’re going to do. You can also be active by joining a softball league, playing pick-up basketball or football games with friends, taking care of your dog’s needs (walking and feeding), joining a book club–anything that will keep you busy and help you stay healthy.
5.Try a new hobby
One way to stay busy and enjoy life after overcoming addiction is by trying out a new hobby. It’s important to find something you’re interested in so you’ll want to get down to business. Some possible hobbies include photography, drawing, painting, sculpting, woodworking, jewelry making, scrapbooking, or coin collecting.
